The Fantastic Five at the World Festival

The Fantastic Five traveled to the FIRST® Championship and World Festival in Detroit.  Arriving on April 24th, the teams witnessed the latest science and technology on display. “The Innovation Fair was cool. We got to hold a de-cellularized human heart, learn about deep brain stimulation, and have a conversation with a robot that could read team t-shirts.”

One of their favorite parts of the weekend was interacting with other teams. “The team from Denmark was so friendly and nice. They showed and explained all of their code to us and invited us to join them during their practice time to let us see how their robot attachments worked.”  The Spirit of Coopertition© was in full force, even though these teams were competing at the highest level.

In their third and final round, The Fantastic Five were joined by the team from North Dakota, the LEGO Lions. “The team from North Dakota was nice, and they did very well with a simple robot that didn’t have all the big complicated attachments.”

When Life Gives you Llamas at the Razorback Invitational

In the words of the Mama Llama, Megan Dahle “These kids have single-handedly redefined an entire category of competition in FLL. They completely and permanently changed the way project presentation will be done by the best of the best for years to come.”
