Donor Spotlight: John and Paige Pearson Meyer

We are fortunate to have a very involved board that wholeheartedly aligns with us and lends a hand in creating our vision of a community where children thrive, women excel, and families succeed. John Meyer, the outgoing president of our Board, has seen EmBe Education since the inception of the idea in 2022, and now, he and his wife, Paige, are the inaugural donors of our Scholarship Fund in 2024.

“I think EmBe is building something really special with the new EmBe Education program. Everything for a family starts with making sure the kids are safe, cared for, and have an environment where they can learn and grow. Once that is established, parents can find employment and go to work knowing their kids are thriving. I want to make sure everyone can have that opportunity,” John said when asked why EmBe Education’s Scholarship Fund is a cause worth supporting.

John’s first connection to EmBe was emceeing The EMBES (previously, Tribute to Women) years ago with his wife, Paige. After that, he mentored the boys in the Let Me Run program. He said, “As a girl dad and employer of many incredible females who went through the Women’s Leadership Program, it was an easy yes when asked to join the Board.” John’s family is integrated through all pillars at EmBe, including the pool, where his daughter swims at every week. “I have loved watching her blossom as part of the swim team and having a place to call home every week with EmBe. She’s growing in her discipline and dedication, but also building friendships and experiencing the amazing feeling of teamwork. I’m grateful for that,” John adds.

To John, what sets EmBe apart from other non-profits in the area is that our programs, either directly or indirectly, impact everyone in the community – employers and employees, children and caregivers – we need thriving families to have thriving businesses and citizens.

“I would challenge you to sponsor one child to get access to EmBe Education. Not only are you directly impacting one child and one family in Sioux Falls, but you are indirectly making a greater impact on the community of Sioux Falls. You’re creating a ripple effect in that child’s life that will flow for years to come.”

We are so thankful for John and Paige and their championing of EmBe’s mission. To donate to EmBe’s Scholarship Fund, donate on our Giving Page. If you have questions or would like to make a donation to our Annual Fund, reach out to Chief Development Officer, Ravan Ackerman, at rackerman@embe.org.
