Catering to Kids for Nine Decades
Girls flocked to EmBe in the 1920’s for crafts, clubs and basketball. Later it was the Bunny Brunch, Kids Carnival, and swimming lessons. Today they come to EmBe for volleyball, Girls on the Run, and babysitting classes.
Ann Louise Kuehn got involved in the early 60’s because she took her children to swimming lessons and day camp. Before she left, she helped start the Santa House in 1977, a tradition that continued into the ’90s with the help of as many as 1,000 volunteers a year.
EmBe supports the youth of our community through childcare, camps, sports leagues, and lessons. These activities help children get involved and meet friends, as well as help children to gain knowledge in particular areas of study, whether it is sports or lessons. Become part of the tradition of the EmBe, participate in a class, enroll in a program, become a member and carry on the legacy that was started in the early ’20s.
Our Youth Programs
EmBe financial assistance provides for the needs of youth, families and individuals who cannot afford the full cost of EmBe memberships and programs. EmBe is committed to being accessible to all, and works hard to support those who may be in challenging financial situations.
