EmBe Volleyball provides kids an opportunity to learn the skills of the game in a recreational, non-competitive environment.

EmBe offers a winter and fall volleyball season that runs from January – March and September – November. Each team is built with ten youth and two volunteer coaches each. Open to both boys and girls. Teams are divided into two divisions; 3rd-4th grades and 5th-6th grades.

Scholarships Available

This includes 10 weeks of play – 1 scheduled practice per week, 2 back to back games about every other Saturday (4 game days will be scheduled), final weekend single elimination tournament, EmBe Volleyball team t-shirt and season end participation medal.

Registration & Team Information:
All skill levels are invited to participate in our recreational league. Our league is made up of two divisions: 3rd – 4th grades and 5th – 6th grades, boys & girls. EmBe reserves the right to mix players from different schools to form teams. League organizers do their best to accommodate special requests and preferred practice days, but preferred placement is not guaranteed. Each team will be led by two volunteer coaches and meet one day each week for a one hour practice. Registration closes July 21st at 5pm.

Practice Information:
Practices will start the week of September 1st. Practices will take place at EmBe Downtown, EmBe South, or a local elementary school for one hour between 6:00pm – 8:45pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. Practice is led by two volunteer coaches. If your team does not have the two required coaches, your team cannot move forward with a season. Our coaches’ practice plans will now incorporate critical life skills that will help grow the players on and off the court! Coaches can decide if they want to follow our practice plans or use their own; however, we strongly encourage them to incorporate the life skills either way.

League Games:
Will be held at the Avera Human Performance Center (HPC) on Saturdays. Teams will play between 8am – 4:00pm. Team game schedule will be out with team placement.

Games schedule:
TBD – Once Avera has set their schedule set for the HPC building, we will be given our game day options for our fall season. Once this is set, we will update the website/registration and email everyone who is registered with the update.

Each team will play two back to back games per game day. The tournament will be a single elimination. We will be offering four game days and one tournament. Recreational play is emphasized while regular volleyball rules are followed. All players are required to wear non-marking tennis shoes. Kneepads are strongly encouraged.

SCHOLARSHIPS

We will not turn anyone away based on inability to pay. If you are in need of a scholarship, please fill out the scholarship application.

COACHING

Volunteers make this program successful!

No volleyball experience necessary to coach a team. We just as that volunteers have a passion for mentoring young athletes and helping them be their very best! Two coaches (male or female, 18 years & above) are required for every team, creating flexibility in scheduling! If a team does not have two coaches, they cannot continue with the season.

Volunteer coaches are provided training materials and practice plans for the entire season. Coaches give 1 hour of their time each week to their team. Game days will be two hours on a Saturday. We will have a total of 4 game days and one tournament. We do understand schedule conflicts arise, we ask that all coaches be present at majority of practices and games.
