EmBe Volleyball provides kids an opportunity to learn the skills of the game in a recreational, non-competitive environment.

EmBe and Kairos Elite Volleyball Club with Avera Sports have collaborated to bring youth an excellent volleyball experience! With a shared vision to positively influence the lives of youth through volleyball, area kids will benefit from the knowledge offered by the two organizations, providing a seamless experience that fits each child. More than 1000 youth benefit from the EmBe and Kairos partnership. We offer two seasons of league play; one in the winter (Jan-March) and one in the fall (Sept-Nov). We build teams according to grade and school attending, with ten youth and two volunteer coaches each. Leagues have two divisions; 3rd-4th grades and 5th-6th grades.

EmBe will not be offering a Fall 2022 Volleyball Season in order to allow us time to reorganize the program. Look for additional information about the Winter Season in October.

Cost: $100.00
This includes 10 weeks of play – 1 scheduled practice per week, 2 back to back games every other Saturday, final weekend single elimination tournament, EmBe Volleyball team t-shirt and season end participation medal.

Will take place at EmBe Downtown Gym for one hour between 5:30pm – 9:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays.  If a coach chooses an alternative night to practice, the coach must find their own practice site.

League Games:
Will be held on Saturdays between 1:30 pm – 6:00 pm at the Avera Human Performance Center.  Games will be played in blocks from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm and 4 pm – 6 pm.

Each team will play two back to back games in that time block.

On the last weekend of games both age groups will participate in a single elimination tournament.

We will not turn kids away based on inability to pay. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please fill out the application below or contact Jasmina Nelson at (605) 681-8329 or jnelson@embe.org

Male and female coaches are provided skill training, choreographed drills and weekly practice plans through our Kairos partnership. Teams practice for one hour, one night a week (EmBe can offer Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday options at their downtown facility – if coaches wish to practice with their team a different night, the coach must find their own practice facility) and have two back to back games (at the Avera Human Performance Center), on specific Saturdays from January-March 2022. Head coaches must be an adult (21 years or older) and assistant coaches must be 16 years or older. A volunteer application and background check must be completed by every new coach and updated every two years.

Located in Sioux Falls, the Kairos Elite Volleyball Club coaching staff is dedicated to providing local players with an opportunity to develop while gaining exposure to some of the best competition and college scouts in the country!  The goal of the program is to train players in a competitive environment where they work to: improve their individual skills through position specific training, increase court sense and knowledge of offensive and defensive concepts, mature personal confidence through achievement, and practice at a level that will train them for college athletics. Kairos is a partner of Avera Sports Institute.

In order to keep every safe, we must adhere to the following COVID-19 related rules of EmBe and our partners with Avera Sports.

These policies are subject to changes

All spectators, players and coaches must be masked in the lobby area and bathrooms in the Avera Human Performance Center.

Masking is required  for all adults entering all areas of EmBe facilities when children and youth are present, as we protect those under 12 unable to vaccinate. This includes all parents, guests and other adults, regardless of vaccination status. This requirement applies to all areas where our children and youth are present including childcare hallways, lobbies, gyms, and the pool.
