EmBe Youth Volleyball program provides kids an opportunity to learn the skills of the game in a recreational, non-competitive, environment.

EmBe and Kairos Elite Volleyball Club with Avera Sports have collaborated to bring an even greater volleyball experience to youth! With a shared vision to positively influence the lives of youth through volleyball; area kids will benefit from the knowledge offered by the two organizations, providing a seamless experience that fits each child. More than 1000 youth benefit from the EmBe and Kairos partnership. We offer two seasons of league play; one in the winter (Jan.-April) and one in the fall (Sept.-Nov.). Teams in each league will be formed according to grade and school attending with ten youth and two volunteer coaches each. Our league is broken into two divisions; 3rd-4th grades and 5th-6th grades.

Cost: $100.00
This includes 10 weeks of play – 1 scheduled practice per week (11 weeks), 2 back to back games every other Saturday (1o weeks), EmBe Volleyball team t-shirt and season end participation medal.

Practices:
Will take place at EmBe Downtown Gym for one hour between 5:30pm – 9:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays.  If a coach chooses an alternative night to practice, the coach must find their own practice site.

League Games:
Will be held on Saturdays between 8:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Avera Human Performance Center.  Games will be played in blocks from 8:30am-10:30am and 11am-1pm.  We will alternate league age groups each week (for example, 3-4 grade league may play the 8:30am block one week, then the next week, they will play the 11am block.  5-6 grade league will play the alternating block).

Each team will play two back to back games in that time block.

Game weekends are as follows:
Jan 23
Feb 6
Feb 13
Mar 13
Mar 27

Season End Tournament:
To limit exposure due to COVID-19, we will postpone our traditional season end tournament play.  We will reassess this decision each season, until the pandemic is over.  The final weekend of the season will be regular back to back games. Each participant will receive a participation medal.

2021 Winter Season Dates:

  • Nov 2, 2020 – Registration opens
  • Dec 14 at NOON – Registration closes
  • Week of Jan 18-22 – Practices Begin
  • Jan 23 – Games Begin
  • Mar 27 – Season Ends

We will not turn kids away based on inability to pay. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please fill out the application below or contact Stacy Stahl at (605) 681-8329 or sstahl@embe.org

In order to keep every safe, we must adhere to the following COVID-19 related rules of EmBe and our partners with Avera Sports.  These policies are in place to limit the number of people in the buildings to be able to provide opportunities for social distancing.  These policies are subject to change.

Anyone that enters the EmBe or Avera HPC buildings must have their temperature taken.

Only one spectator can accompany each player to practices and games.  This spectator must be the same one for both back to back games played on a Saturday.

All spectators must be masked.  Players/Coaches must be masked when entering and exiting the building.  Players do not need to be masked while on court, in play.

To limit exposure (leaving and coming back), games will be played back to back.  Game blocks are (roughly) 8:30-10:30am and 11am-1pm.
