About Christa
Ms. Christa Friedrich is the Clinical Research Manager at the Avera Research Institute – Center for Pediatric and Community Research. Friedrich has a master’s degree in Education and Human Sciences from South Dakota State University. Over the past 12 years, Ms. Friedrich has been involved as the operational lead for large-scale community based longitudinal studies in maternal and child health. Her inspiration and drive to continue learning, growing, and pushing through challenges comes from the example her parents set growing up and continue to live out today. The research world is constantly changing and that environment has been a catalyst for innovation and flexibility throughout her career.
Friedrich enjoys playing sports—particularly hockey and softball, cooking, and spending time at the family farm in Aurora.
What does leadership mean to you?
Leadership is an intentional daily endeavor that drives me to continue embracing the challenges and successes of my environment. I think that leadership embodies many skills that are never fully developed. Leaders are consistently seeking ways to not only improve themselves but most importantly raise those up around them to realize their potential. Leaders set the tone for others and understand that to maximize success, it takes many hands working together towards a common goal. Leadership is hard. Leadership can be lonely. But leadership can be extremely rewarding and that’s why I continue to push every day to do better.
