On Giving Tuesday, EmBe is celebrating the amazing community that fuels our mission. We’re grateful for every participant, donor, and volunteer who brings our vision to life. On Tuesday, December 3, join us for a day filled with gratitude, giving, and connection.
Donor support on Giving Tuesday will go even further this year, with our partner Thrivent Financial matching donations at 50%, up to an additional $20,000. That means a $20 donation becomes $30, amplifying your impact and making an even greater difference in the lives of the women, children, and families we serve.
Having the support of corporate partners who believe in EmBe’s mission is vital. Our connection with Thrivent Financial is deep, making their partnership on Giving Tuesday extra special. Our CEO, Kerri Tietgen, has been a part of the Thrivent Member Network board for the past eight years.
“Kerri has been a thoughtful and insightful sounding board to represent and bring ideas to our board based on past experiences and history with not only Thrivent, but our Member Network’s board initiatives,” says Jenn Rechnagel, Engagement Specialist for Thrivent – Midwest Rockies Advisor Group.
The purpose of Thrivent is to empower lives of service and faith. The mission of EmBe is to uplift the potential in children, women and families through opportunities that empower all. Each of our organizations has a mission to give back and strengthen our communities.
“We were drawn to partner with an organization with a strong sense of community, education, and personal development—all things that Thrivent values in our own mission to empower our clients to make an impact and support their desire to give and serve in communities wherever and however they choose,” says Rechnagel.
Giving Tuesday Events You Won’t Want to Miss
Coffee & Conversations at Josiah’s | 6:30–9:00 a.m.
Start your day with a free cup of coffee (or specialty latte!) at Josiah’s, courtesy of Thrivent and EmBe. Whether you’re bringing a friend, meeting colleagues, or just dropping in, this is a perfect chance to enjoy a moment of connection and generosity. Pay it forward by donating to EmBe at our booth on-site!
Volunteer Power Hour at EmBe Downtown | 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Give back during your lunch break! Help pack Girls on the Run totes or tidy up the Dress for Success boutique during this hands-on volunteer opportunity. Sign up HERE.
Swim-A-Thon at EmBe Downtown | December 1 – 3, all day
You’re invited to swim/walk lengths of the pool and support EmBe’s mission! Find at least two pledges (yourself, friends, family, employer, coach, teacher, neighbor, etc.) to make a flat dollar amount donation, a $1 per Length Donation, or both! Track/record the lengths you’ve swam/walked from Sunday, December 1-Tuesday, December 3rd. Register for our Swim-A-Thon HERE.
“We are so thankful to Thrivent for their generosity and for picking EmBe as this year’s Giving Tuesday recipient. We have a full day of outstanding events that we encourage everyone in our community to participate in. We are also needing donations on December 3 to maximize Thrivent’s generosity. Anyone impacted by one of EmBe’s programs should consider donating, no matter the size, to EmBe on Giving Tuesday,” said Kerri Tietgen.
“We hope to inspire both EmBe supporters and Thrivent advocates to make a more significant impact in supporting EmBe’s mission by amplifying their generosity with our challenge match,” says Rechnagel.
Thrivent’s Member Network in the South Dakota Plains leads the country with the highest percentage of locally engaged members serving their communities through Thrivent’s generosity programs.
