Grant Benefits EmBe Youth Programs

/, Empowerment, Impact, Youth/Grant Benefits EmBe Youth Programs

EmBe received a grant from the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council of $3,600 to support scholarships for girls to participate in Girls on the Run at Hayward and Lowell Elementaries in our spring 2018 season and Terry Redlin Elementary in our fall 2018 season. The Council’s Initiative is to promote philanthropy “for youth – by youth” and their purpose is to enable their students to make a difference in the lives of young people in the Sioux Falls area. The grant was written to offset expenses at these three elementary schools due to their Title I designation – the percentage of students on free or reduced meals at school ranges from 75%-Over 90%. Sixteen girls at Hayward, 15 girls at Lowell and 19 girls at Terry Redlin were supported by this grant.
