Alex Helvin: South Childcare Site Manager

We are so excited to highlight and welcome Alex Helvin, our new South Childcare Site Manager, to the EmBe team. As the Childcare Site Manager, Alex provides daily management to the childcare site, leadership, supervision and development of childcare staff, along with parent communications and admissions. Alex is certainly not “new” in the sense of joining EmBe’s team. Helvin started at EmBe when she was young and grew up within the company.

“I have learned and developed both personally and professionally through my experiences with EmBe,” Helvin started. “A lot of the foundational skills stem from what I built with EmBe, and I am very thankful to have such a solid foundation. They continue to provide me with opportunities for growth and challenge within my career.”

Having Alex on the EmBe team is a privilege. She is a vital asset to ensuring we are operating at our best while staying within legal compliance and licensing regulations. At the same time, she is continuing to build connections with families and entrust us with their children.

  1. What is your proudest moment at EmBe?
I don’t know if I have a specific moment because there are so many small moments that have made such a big impact on me! In all the years working with the children, I have gotten to watch them grow and learn in so many ways. Building connections with families and having them entrust us with the care of their children means the world to us, I am very proud of that.
  2. What are three words you’d used to describe EmBe?
    Teamwork, relationships & development.
  3. Tell us something that might surprise us about you
I am an open book so I don’t think much surprises people! People always are interested to hear my husband and I were foster parents and adopted, we then ended up getting pregnant with twins. The twins were a surprise to both of us!
  4. Where is your favorite place to be?
I wish I had a fun or exotic place to say, but it is probably my couch at the end of the day! I am very busy so having a moment to sit and unwind or watch a show on Netflix is a treat these days!
  5. Do you have a favorite quote?
    Everything happens for a reason.
  6. How do you define success?
Success is very individual and looks different for everyone. For me success is being happy and comfortable with what you have achieved and knowing that it is a journey, not a destination.
  7. What is your least favorite food?
    McRib’s!
