EmBe has accepted participants for its 17-month 2019 Women’s Leadership Program beginning January of 2019. With more than 200 past participants, the 2019 class benefits from eight years of programming experience and community involvement. The applicants for the program represent a broad range of career paths and are chosen by committee to ensure that in addition to the leadership education, the connections that are made throughout the 17-month program will also enhance all the attendee's experience. First comes Black Friday, then Small Business Saturday followed by Cyber Monday. But at EmBe our favorite day is Giving Tuesday. Started as a day for consumers take a break from holiday shopping and do some holiday giving instead. EmBe has been participating in Giving Tuesday events for several years. This year, EmBe is participating in South Dakota Day of Giving on Giving Tuesday. 2018 Election Proves Historic for Women

A record number of women were elected in yesterday’s midterm elections. From governorships to congressional races, women won in important races in South Dakota and across the country. In Congress At least 98 women won house races last night (some races are still pending), beating the previous record of 85 congresswomen. The women elected include the youngest woman ever elected and the first Native American and Muslim women ever elected to House of Representatives.
