Kerra Wallace is the Lead Teacher in 2C at EmBe South and has done amazing things to continue to evolve our curriculum and ensure our classrooms are a fun and safe environment for the children. Her job entails seeing over the children and daily activities of her classroom. Creating lesson plans, craft prepping, recording information about each child in KidReports and so much more!

“I love seeing the kids explore through daily play and watching the lightbulbs turn on when they figure something out,” Kerra said.

EmBe has helped Kerra in my professional development by giving her the opportunity to work on things outside of her usual job description. She was able to create a new lesson plan format for infants – two-year-old classroom and EmBe is now using it in all the classrooms! We are so appreciative of her and all she continues to do for EmBe.

What is your proudest moment at EmBe?
Last year, I had a parent write me a letter letting me know how thankful they were for me. They told me their child didn’t like coming to daycare until she started coming to my classroom. It was very touching to hear. I am glad I was able to create that bond with her and still get hugs when she sees me in the hallways.

I have three published children’s books.
Where is your favorite place to be?
I have a new appreciation for being at home. Before COVID started I was someone who always wanted to be out and about. Now, my favorite place is hanging out at home with my husband and daughter. On the occasions I do get out, I love sitting in coffee shops, going shopping and honestly I love coming to work.

I would define success as meeting the individual goals that you set for yourself.
