For over a decade, EmBe has served as the FIRST® Program Delivery Organization for the FIRST® LEGO® League programs in South Dakota. We’ve celebrated teams’ successes, encouraged them to persevere when things got tough, and taken pride in watching countless youth grow up while discovering the incredible world of STEM through hands-on experiential learning. We have been so fortunate to work with all of you to build a strong foundation for FIRST® programs in South Dakota.
After careful evaluation over the past year to ensure that EmBe continues to align its programs with our mission and capacity to deliver at the highest level, EmBe has informed FIRST® headquarters that we will be stepping down from the role of Program Delivery Organization in South Dakota, effective March 31, 2025. While there is no question regarding the value of the program for the participants and this community, the financial challenges to deliver programming is no longer feasible.
FIRST® will soon begin the process of selecting a new Program Delivery Organization for the 2025–26 season and will share updates directly with team coaches. Coaches are asked to please check the email used to register with FIRST® to stay informed over the summer to make sure they don’t miss any of these important updates, and to share the information along to your team families.
We are incredibly grateful for the coaches, volunteers, and families who have made this program a success. Your dedication and support have been invaluable, you have had an impact on hundreds of youth, and we are excited about the future of FLL in South Dakota!
