We are thrilled to introduce Rachel Gross, our new Executive Assistant to the EmBe leadership team, to the EmBe family! Rachel brings with her a wealth of experience and a vibrant personality that we know will greatly contribute to our team. Rachel shared with us a little more about her background, interests, fun facts, travel experiences, favorites, and more.
Background: A Small-Town Girl with Big Dreams
Rachel hails from the picturesque town of Huron, South Dakota, where she fondly recalls a childhood filled with camaraderie and community spirit. “I had a lot of fun growing up in Huron,” Rachel reminisces. “There was always a strong sense of camaraderie that goes along with living in a place that lots of people love to hate.” From participating in the swim team to biking around town and enjoying the local parks, Rachel’s upbringing reflects the charm of small-town living.
Prior to joining EmBe, Rachel served as a Development Manager at the American Cancer Society in Sioux Falls, where she managed events and raised funds for local cancer patients. She also gained valuable experience as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of the Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools Foundation.
Interests and Hobbies: A Passion for Music
Outside of work, Rachel’s heart belongs to music. “I LOVE to sing!” she exclaims. “Between the 3rd grade and now, there have only been 5 years that I haven’t been involved in a choir.” Rachel’s dedication to music is evident in her active participation in the South Dakota Symphony Chorus, where she finds immense joy and fulfillment.
Fun Facts: A Talent for Tongue Twisters
Did you know that Rachel can make a clover with her tongue? It’s just one of the many delightful surprises that make her unique. And when it comes to what brings a smile to her face, Rachel’s answer is heartwarming: “When my son (Jack) and my dog (Archie) play together!”
Travel Experiences: From Concerts to Bucket List Dreams
Rachel’s travel adventures are as diverse as they are exciting. Last summer, she journeyed to Kansas City with her girlfriends for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour, an experience she describes as the most fun she’s ever had. And while she treasures memories from her recent trips, Rachel’s ultimate travel dream lies in Prague. “A very well-traveled college geography professor once told me that Prague is the most beautiful city in the entire world,” she shares, fueling her desire to explore its wonders firsthand.
Favorites: From Dr. Pepper to Rom-Coms
When it comes to starting her day, Rachel’s breakfast of choice might surprise you. “Does Dr. Pepper count?” she laughs. And for those seeking recommendations, Rachel wholeheartedly suggests indulging in “The Holiday” starring Jude Law and Kate Winslet. “It scratches the itch for a good Christmas movie and a good romance, all in one!”
As Rachel settles into her role at EmBe, she is eager to contribute her skills, passion, and infectious enthusiasm to the team. With her vibrant personality and diverse experiences, Rachel is sure to make a lasting impact within our organization.
