Amber Metzger and Laura Metzger credit EmBe Dress for Success Sioux Falls with helping them pave their paths to success.
“At EmBe Dress for Success Sioux Falls, I can always reach out to get the support that I need, when I need it,” Amber Metzger said. Amber and her sister Laura, also a client, will be featured speakers at the In Her Shoes Empowerment Breakfast on Thursday, February 6 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.
Amber says when she came to EmBes Dress for Success Sioux Falls in January 2018, her self-esteem was at an all-time low. “EmBe Dress for Success not only helped me with clothes and my career, but gave me the confidence and self-worth to push myself forward and challenge myself.”
Amber’s journey began with an employment suiting, preparing her for a successful job interview. After becoming employed, Amber joined the Tapestry program, a network for employed women to build skills and feel supported throughout a year of employment. “Today I’m a strong, independent woman,” Amber concluded.
In addition to the volunteers and staff who bring Dress for Success Sioux Falls programming to life, Amber had someone special to share the journey with: her sister, Laura.
“My goal was to be the best version of myself while making an impact on others, but I found myself in a transitional period with no support when I moved to Sioux Falls,” Laura said. Nearly two years later, Laura has participated in all of the programs offered at Dress for Success Sioux Falls: interview suiting, career coaching, mentoring and programs serving women in the workforce.
“The amount of gratitude towards this program is indescribable,” Laura said. “Even though I was going through one of the hardest points in my life, I was empowered to be my best self. Today I am confident in my abilities as a strong woman.”
Amber and Laura want all women to know that the services at EmBe Dress for Success Sioux Falls are available free of charge. “The program is amazing because of the ability to tailor services to each individual. From entry level employment to doctoral degrees, age is never a factor. All are welcome and will feel inspired walking out the doors of EmBe Dress for Success Sioux Falls,” Laura shared.
