Early on Saturday, February 2nd, I had my first taste of the state competition for FIRST® LEGO® League. Early in the history of these awards, Government and Law were considered "non-traditional" industries for women. After School Day at the Capitol

The South Dakota School-Age Care Alliance and South Dakota Afterschool Network hosted Afterschool Day at the Capitol on February 6. As part of the program, the FIRST LEGO League First Place Champion traveled to Pierre to share their presentation and talk to our legislators.  The team When Life Gives You Llamas from O’Gorman Junior High School in Sioux Falls, SD, presented to the Democratic Caucus and was part of the recognition of FIRST LEGO League on the floor of the House. That weary winter feeling is a real thing this time of year. The holidays are over and it is COLD. A great way to break-up the monotony of this long winter stretch is to volunteer! We’ve got some easy, rewarding volunteer opportunities at EmBe. FIRST LEGO League Greeter Our state championship tournament for FIRST LEGO League is February 2 and we need a few more friendly faces. 2019 Women’s Leadership Program Participants Announced

EmBe has accepted participants for its 17-month 2019 Women’s Leadership Program beginning January of 2019. With more than 200 past participants, the 2019 class benefits from eight years of programming experience and community involvement. The applicants for the program represent a broad range of career paths and are chosen by committee to ensure that in addition to the leadership education, the connections that are made throughout the 17-month program will also enhance all the attendee's experience.
