By clothing them with interview outfits and mentoring them through job searching, Dress for Success treats their clients with dignity and respect and helps them to recognize their important role in society. Fall swim lessons start soon at EmBe. As we enter the cooler months, now is the time to enroll your family in one of the organization’s many aquatic programs available this season. EmBe uses the American Red Cross for swimming and water safety training, with an emphasis on drowning prevention and the best in swim instruction. Three of EmBe’s signature after-school programs will begin in March, and they are in need of volunteers like you! Girls on the Run is an activity-based, positive youth development program for grades 3 through 5, and over 1,500 girls participate in Sioux Falls each year. This bi-annual program teaches life skills, inspires confidence and promotes positive health while preparing the girls to run in a celebratory 5K at the end of the season. FIRST® LEGO® League teams move on to nationals

Over 350 children have enjoyed building and programming their LEGO Mindstorm robots and learning about the interactions between humans and animals during the past season’s FIRST® LEGO® League Animal AlliesSM theme. Fifty-six teams of 9 to 14 year olds were coached by over 130 volunteers. Qualifying competitions were held in Rapid City and Sioux Falls. During the qualifiers, the teams presented their innovative solutions to problems which occur when humans interact with animals, displayed the prowess of their programming and robot design and exhibited their teamwork.
