The In Her Shoes Empowerment Breakfast connects community members, all supporting the continuum of EmBe’s women’s workforce development programming like Dress for Success Sioux Falls, Women to the Workforce and Tapestry. Event attendees leave energized and inspired, understanding the ways EmBe empowers women to succeed.

What Will The Funds Raised For In Her Shoes Support?
EmBe leads by empowering women. Our programs change lives by nurturing and equipping women of our community with life skills. EmBe has the privilege of directly serving over 12,500 people every year, meeting women in their lives and striving to walk that path with them.

What your donation can do:

  • $10 buys warm socks for a client who walks to work
  • $25 covers one career development resource book for clients
  • $50 covers class registration for clients to attend a computer class
  • $100 buys four sets of scrubs for healthcare professional

Shannon Steffke will focus on overcoming adversity, the power of community and building a life you’re proud of.

About Shannon:
 In February 2018, Shannon made a life-altering decision which she says not only saved her life but gave her a life better than she could’ve imagined. Now, she hopes by sharing her story of recovery, she will inspire other to believe in their ability to make positive change in their lives. Shannon lives in Sioux Falls with her three children and mother. A Wisconsin native, she came to Sioux Falls in 2000 to pursue a career in television journalism. After spending seven years as a reporter and anchor at KSFY Television. She left journalism to focus on family and found a new passion in advertising and marketing. She has worked for Sanford Health, Media One Advertising & Marketing, KELO-FM and the South Dakota Advertising Federation. She is currently brand and marketing coordinator at Dakota State University in Madison and is an Independent Consultant for Arbonne International. Shannon is a proud soccer mom. She enjoys time spent with family and friends and volunteers her time for the American Advertising Federation, Children’s Miracle Network, and the recovery community. Her youngest son attends Embe South Childcare.

Suggested donation in lieu of event tickets

In Her Shoes Empowerment Breakfast will be free to view virtually on EmBe’s Facebook page beginning at 8 am on Thursday, February 11. In lieu of event tickets, we are encouraging our virtual viewers to make a suggested donation of $25. These donations will be used to support EmBe women’s programming like Dress for Success Sioux Falls, Women to the Workforce and Tapestry. We can’t wait to virtually “see” you then!

Wanting to host the event for your friends, family or coworkers?

We encourage you to invite guests, who would normally join at your table to participate in the virtual event. When you purchase a virtual half or full table through our donation form you will receive a host kit that includes:

  • Postcards to invite your guests to the event
  • $5 gift card to Josiah’s Coffeehouse and Cafe to enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the In Her Shoes Empowerment Breakfast
  • Thank you notes to send to your guests after virtually joining you that morning
