COVID-19 Precautions: Due to COVID-19, our 5K will have a few changes! We will be running two different races — both will have music, warm-ups, medals and post-race snacks. Each team will be assigned a time they will run their 5K race. We will be practicing social distancing and proper hygiene to ensure all our participants stay safe, healthy and have a wonderful race day experience! Our in-person event is limited to our GOTR participants, coaches/volunteers and families.
An integral part of the Girls on the Run, Heart & Sole and Let Me Run curriculum, the 5K celebrates and reinforces important lessons while showing girls and boys the support of the entire community. The 5K is the capstone achievement for those participating in our programs and gives them a tangible sense of healthy goal setting and success. The girls and boys train all season to complete a 5K (3.1-mile) race. The 5K is a celebration and an opportunity for each child to literally cross the finish line!
The EmBe 5K will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.
Are you a community runner supporting a GOTR girl or connected to a GOTR team? The GOTR team with the most virtual runners signed up by October 29th will receive a pizza party for their last day of GOTR practice!
