POSITION TITLE: Bus Driver
STATUS: Variable – PRN
DEPARTMENT: School Age Care/Childcare (South and Downtown)
REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities

SUMMARY: Provide bus transportation for school age care in the mornings, afternoons, and for field trips when needed. This position is PRN to cover vacations and sick days. There is opportunity for scheduled hours driving van, or working childcare/school age care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Ensure EmBe brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all interactions.
- Reinforce a culture of empowerment and continuous improvement. Mentor the attitude of honesty and mutual respect. Model professionalism, respect, accountability and personal responsibility to staff, children, customers, and supervisors.
- Explain safety/evacuation procedures to children and teachers and assist children getting on and off bus.
- Preform pre-trip inspection before the first trip of the day.
- Perform simple vehicle maintenance, such as filling gas tank, cleaning exterior and interior, taking vehicle for oil changes or state inspections, etc.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle problems that need attention. Approval from Director of Facilities is needed to authorize repairs.
- This position may be asked to drive for other EmBe programs as requested.
- Regular attendance as scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Class B CDL License Required with passenger endorsement.
- Up-to-date medical certification card
- Excellent Driving Record observing speed limits and obeying road signs
- Physical Evaluation
- Demonstrate knowledge of bus transportation and maintenance
- Computer skills as needed for position. Microsoft, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Ability to remain calm, positive, and focused in a busy, distracting environment
