SUMMARY: The Marketing Manager is responsible for ensuring that communication is clear and effective, reaching and motivating our target audience to engage. This person is responsible for setting marketing and communications strategy and implementing marketing campaigns that position the organization for success. This involves participating in programs and developing relationships with volunteers, donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders. Success will be measured through goals, metrics, and key performance indicators. The Marketing Manager will coordinate tactics for efficiency to maximize the impact of EmBe’s human and financial resources.

This position reports to the CEO and works closely with program leaders and the development team, supporting the organization’s strategic plans and tactical needs. This individual is personally responsible for creating content messaging, executing integrated marketing campaigns and programs, and monitoring EmBe’s reputation, brand, and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure EmBe brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all interactions.

• Utilize traditional marketing measurements and digital analytics to ensure the success of EmBe campaigns, monitoring the effectiveness of all efforts

• Partner with development department, including event promotion, production and communication, including campaign strategy and implementation in support of key development activities such as Giving Tuesday

• Maintain and monitor brand standards and ensure organization-wide use of those standards

• Support EmBe materials, including items like table drapes, signage and supplies for community events

• Translate organizational strategy into practical tactics, delivering results with clear and consistent EmBe brand and messaging

• Design, write and produce digital and print materials, delivered through communication channels ranging from email and direct mail to events and digital marketing

• Work with the media to share mission impact of EmBe’s programs and enhance EmBe’s brand recognition

• Maintain a brand voice that resonates with each community, suits each platform, and stays true to strategy overall

• Monitor, record and assess performance of social programs against defined goals and key performance indicators, reporting results and recommended actions to key stakeholders as well as adjusting campaigns based on response

• Manage public relations programs and activities through media relations, special events and publicity. Define strategy and execute public relations tactics for individual programs/events, including writing and distributing news releases and PSAs, media pitching and follow-up. Strives to increase attendance and engagement to all EmBe programs and to safeguard the image and reputation of the organization.

• Coordinate public relations requests by all forms of media and escort media within the facility as required by the organization’s media relations policies and procedures.

• Conduct presentations to community groups.

• Maintain, manage, and develop website content. Interpret analytics to strengthen traffic. Maintain appropriate security and troubleshoot any issues.

As directed by organizational leadership and strategic plans, specific projects include promotion and outreach through marketing and communication tactics that range from writing and design to public relations, social media, and events. This individual works closely with internal and external partners and vendors, including audio visual, marketing communication, video, photography, website, social media, print production, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, business, or related field with three to five years of relevant experience. Applicants must be prepared to provide recent writing samples and demonstrate effective strategic planning.

• Additional non-profit experience preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge of digital communication management, SEO, Adobe Creative Suite and related web applications, and social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Buffer.

• Contribution to an atmosphere of team building and mutual respect.

• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to understand, manage and utilize a contact database.

• Ability to work with a Marketing Committee and utilize committee members’ strengths and abilities to further the brand.

• Proven project and budget management.

• Solid public relations skills, including press release creation and story pitching.

• Broad understanding of targeting and channels, applying knowledge to inform, inspire and engage the wide range of EmBe audiences.

• Dedication to continual learning, staying abreast of community trends and functional advances in marketing and communication.

• Ability to appeal to and communicate with diverse individuals and organizations.

• Skills in editing and providing creative direction.
