inquire now to coach Girls on the Run in the spring 2017
Thank you for your interest! Girls on the Run/Heart and Sole will begin the season the week of March 2, 2017 (most schools the week of March 13) and run through May 24, 2017. Our teams consist of 8 to 16 girls that meet two times (for 10 weeks) each week for a 75 minutes session and are led by two fully-trained coaches. Most teams begin meeting at about 3:00 or 3:30 pm. As a fully trained coach, you must be at least 18 years old and available for ONE practice weekly.
Girls on the Run/Heart and Sole envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Join us by making an investment in the life of a girl today! Each season Girls on the Run/Heart and Sole has a dynamic group of coaches that volunteer their time to guide and mentor girls so that they are prepared to become happy, healthy, self-confident adolescents and adults. Coaches need to be committed to a healthy lifestyle, be individuals that are a positive influence, and are committed to developing and celebrating our youth.
The Girls on the Run/Heart and Sole lessons encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development. Participants explore and discuss their own beliefs around experiences and challenges girls face at this age. They also develop important strategies and skills to help them navigate life experiences. We start with helping the girls get a better understanding of who they are and what’s important to them. Then, we look at the importance of team work and healthy relationships. And, finally, the girls explore how they can positively connect with and shape the world. Physical activity is woven into our program to inspire an appreciation of fitness and to build habits that lead to a lifetime of health. At the end of each three month session, the girls participate in a Girls on the Run/Heart and Sole 5K event. This celebratory, non-competitive event is the culminating experience of the curriculum. Completing the 5K gives the girls a tangible understanding of the confidence that comes through accomplishment as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. Crossing the finish line is a defining moment when the girls realize that even the seemingly impossible IS possible.
